The spa’s Social Centre offers guests the possibility to become acquainted with the history as well as the present times of the Spa Island, visit interesting places in the surroundings of Piešťany, travel to known as well as less well known parts of Slovakia. All offered trips are published monthly in the Social Centre bulletin with detailed instructions which are available at the reception desk of each spa hotel.

In summer guests can take an attractive boat ride on the River Váh and Lake Sĺňava, where they can admire flora and water birds in a unique preserved water area on Bird Island.

An archeologically interesting place is Čertova pec, 15 km from the spa. During the Ice Age it was settled by prehistoric people.

The nearby castle ruins of Tematín, Beckov and Čachtice will remain in the memories of guests as places where time stood still and where the walls whisper eternal legends about the cruel owners and bloody Countess Báthory.

The Slovak “Rome”, the towns of Trnava as well as Nitra, are attractive with their beautiful sacral architecture from various periods and various building types. The town of Trenčín with its stunning castle built on a tall rock is described in many legends.

On the highest mountain of the Myjavská pahorkatina mountain range, Bradlo, stands a national cultural monument, the grave mound of a significant Slovak statesman and scientist, General M. R. Štefánik.

Coach trips to the wine town of Modra are also very popular. After a walk around the ceramic factory with the opportunity to purchase their products, you can taste wine from the sunny Carpathian hills and enjoy a typical Slovak dinner accompanied with folk music.

Get to know the history and technology of the production of crystal glass at the most famous Slovak glass factory in Valašská Belá, together with a snack and the opportunity to buy the exquisite local products.

The capital city of Slovakia, Bratislava, lies on both banks of the River Danube. Bratislava Castle with its extraordinary view over the blue Danube dominates the capital city. It was a crown city of 19 Austro-Hungarian kings. You can visit Michael’s gate, gothic Dome of St. Martin, Clock Museum, Town hall with a museum, Slovak National Theatre, Church of St. Elizabeth (Blue Church), exhibitions in Mirbach Palace.

Romantic Bojnice Castle dating from the eleventh century was rebuilt at the beginning of the twentieth century in the style of a French chateau of the Middle Ages according to the designs of the owner, Count Ján Pálffy. It is one of the most picturesque sights in Slovakia and is surrounded by a beautiful park. Close by is a Zoo.

Also a historic point of interest is Červený kameň Castle, featuring an interior furnished with historic furniture and portraits.

The magical High Tatras mountains were created at the same time as the Alps. They are the highest mountain range in Slovakia with 20 peaks above 2,400 metres and 35 mountain lakes. Gerlach peak (2,655 m) is the highest peak in Slovakia.

The forested mountain range of the Low Tatras lies parallel to High Tatras. It forms the central part of a National Park (810 km²) with dense forests, caves and wild nature. The highest mountain in the Low Tatras is Ďumbier (2,043 m).

Unique gothic monuments are the towns of Kežmarok, Levoča and Spišský Castle, which is the largest in central Europe.

In neighbouring countries you can admire the beauty of Vienna, Budapest and other beautiful cities.
