At the annual conference “HORECA managment“, which was organised by the weekly magazine TREND from 12 to 13 February 2008 in Poprad, the spa hotel Thermia Palace received the classification of the second best hotel in Slovakia. With a competition of 161 best and most interesting Slovak hotels, Thermia Palace gained 176 from the total of 200 points, and was only just one point behind the winning hotel International from Veľká Lomnica.
An excerpt from the evaluation-report of the committee of the weekly TREND: “The first 5-star hotel in Slovakia re-opened after an extensive renovation in December 2006 and the description of Thermia Palace as a “jewel“ is being used by everyone who sees it. Thermia Palace is not only uniquely situated but also boasts an unequalled atmosphere. It is housed in a beautiful Art Nouveau building and its exclusivity is not only assured by its mainly foreign visitors, a high standard interior, an outside thermal swimming pool or golf course but also its connection with the Irma spas. Guests staying in Thermia can go directly there from their rooms dressed in their bathrobes. Thermia Palace offers various packages of approximately 60 different treatments. Ladies value the grand cosmetic salon...“
The jury gave a high rating for the hotel’s facilities equally the service and the relationship between quality and value. The positive award is quite valuable especially during times where the HoReCa sector is experiencing an unprecedented boom and more than 50 new hotels have joined the competition.
