Slovak Health Spa Piešťany, Inc., and the Austria based company AST Baugesellschaft mbH represented by its Slovak subsidiary AST Slovakia, s. r. o., Bratislava, have February 1st, 2006 signed a contract for the reconstruction of the Art Nouveau hotel Thermia Palace and a part of Hotel Irma balneotherapy center.
AST Baugesellschaft mbH with headquaters in Graz, Austria, and subsiadiaries in eight countries operates in central Europe. The company builds and reconstructs four and five star hotels, for such hotel chains as Kempinski, Crowne Plaza and Hilton. The company has been chosen as the main contractor for this approx. 400 mil. Sk (Slovak Crown) investment based on its experience reconstructing historical buildings. The reconstruction is planned to start in February 2006 and finish in December of the same year.
Thermia Palace is scheduled to receive its first spa guests following a grand opening due Christmas 2006.
