The first five-star spa hotel in Slovakia Thermia Palace will be characterized by a new logo with the central motive of a peacock. It was the hotel’s history and return to tradition which led the management of Health Spa Piešťany to make this choice.
There is an old story about the healing powers of the spa in Piešťany. It is about a peacock which broke its leg and lay down, tired, next to one of the craters with thermal water, slipping down to the muddy brink. It came there every day until a month later people noticed its leg healed. Ever since then people started bathing in holes they dug next to the springs. Later on, a wooden spa was built, and effects of the miraculous water and mud were described for the first time by Doctor Juraj Wernher in his book About the Miraculous Waters of Hungary in the 16th century.
Ľudovít Winter used this magical story during the construction of Thermia Palace and chose the peacock to stand as a symbol of the hotel. You can see it on the façade of the building and also in the beautiful stained glass windows on the upper floor.
Gina Zarski, Austrian interior designer, used a peacock feather in her design drafts as an interesting detail for carpet patterns in the rooms and hallways of the hotel.
The new logo is already being used in all our advertising materials. The font and other features have been chosen according to the unified standard of the design manual of the Danubius Hotels Group, of which Health Spa Piešťany is a member.
