The main part of the cultural program for spa guests, visitors and inhabitants of Piešťany has been prepared for Saturday June 7. It will begin with a grand parade which will take off from the Social Centre in the direction of Irma Health Spa at 9.00 am where the springs will be blessed.

In the music pavilion located near Kursalon, bands representing many different music genres will present themselves, including the folk troupe Trenčan, Finnish choir Tervakosken Mieskuoro, Pressburger Ambasador Orchestra, folk dance and choir group Poleno. The evening part of the program will be opened by Michael Jackson and the Jackson Girls, followed by Marcel Palonder and Anita Soul. The evening will culminate with a concert of the Slovak band Gladiátor.
A program for children and teenagers will concentrate around the area in front of the House of Arts. This part of the program will include the theater group Piki, Wagus, band Street Beat with hip-hop demonstrations, and the winners of the 2008 Playback show.
On Sunday, the program will continue in the Music Pavilion with performances by the children’s folk group Striebornička, choir group Povoja and a concert of the Romanostilo group.
Golden Ribbons of Piešťany – vintage car races will be held alongside the Opening of the spa season. The cars and their drivers will first present themselves on a promotional ride through the town in the early evening of Thursday June 5. On Friday, the cars will start their races on the Spa Island and head on their route through Piešťany - Bojnice – Topoľčany and back. The event will culminate on Saturday evening with an exhibition of the most beautiful of the vintage cars in front of hotel Thermia Palace.
