On April 27th, the president of the Slovak Republic, Ivan Gasparovic, his wife Silvia, as well as ambassadors, diplomats and prominent representatives from the political, economic and business circles witnessed the celebratory opening of the completely renovated Thermia Palace Hotel in Piestany.
After a speech delivered by John Smith, a representative of the majority shareholder of Health Spa Piestany Inc., the famous tenor Peter Dvorsky accompanied by his friends gave a dazzling performance of their singing abilities.
During a short break Klaus Pilz, the general manager of Health Spa Piestany and Peter Pison, the general manager of Casinos Slovakia, presented cheques totalling EUR 10.000,- to the first lady of SR as a donation for her charity for children in need.
Pleasant weather and the breathtaking sunset framed the celebration, which after „O sole mio“ continued with a magnificent fireworks display and a spectacular gala dinner in the Art-Nouveau Hotel.
Thermia Palace Hotel is the first 5* Spa hotel in the Slovak Republic and together with the adjacent Spa Irma represents evidence of the long tradition of Slovak spas.
